Thomas J. "Tom" Roger passed away on October 1, 2024; he was born February 17, 1942, in Peoria to Edward and Mary (Boehle) Roger.

Served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966, stationed in Vietnam from 1965 to 1966.

Worked for the Marshall County Highway Department for 42 years before retiring in 2004.

Founded the Chillicothe Recreational Area and was a member of the Peoria Barbershop Society Chorus; helped establish the Lacon Merchants fast-pitch softball team in the 1970s.

Illinois Senate mourns his passing and extends condolences to his surviving siblings (Anne, Charlie, John, and Bill Roger), niece Katherine Roger, and nephew Jonathan Roger.
