Honors the memory of the Honorable John A. Gorman of Washington, who died on December 14, 2024

Gorman was born May 5, 1942, graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University, earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois, and married Susan Williams on June 28, 1964

Served as Associate Judge for the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court (1979), Circuit Judge (1982-1992, 1994-1998 as Chief), Appellate Justice for the Third District Appellate Court (1990), and U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Central District of Illinois (February 2000 to February 28, 2014)

Spearheaded construction of the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center and introduced an intensive treatment-based program for nonviolent, first-time drug offenders in both state and federal court systems

Survived by his wife of 60 years Susan, three daughters, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and extended family members
