Amends the Illinois School Code to create an exception to disciplinary intervention requirements for students caught possessing tobacco products on school grounds

Under current law, out-of-school suspensions longer than 3 days, expulsions, and transfers to alternative schools can only be used after exhausting other behavioral interventions

The bill exempts tobacco possession violations from this requirement, allowing schools to immediately impose longer suspensions, expulsions, or alternative school transfers without first trying other interventions

Applies to products prohibited under the Prevention of Tobacco Use by Persons under 21 Years of Age and Sale and Distribution of Tobacco Products Act (includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, and other tobacco products)

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
