IL HB1063

Amends the Illinois Works Jobs Program Act to require apprenticeship programs to provide evidence to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity that they have graduated at least 2 apprentices in each construction craft to be performed on a project, in each of the 3 calendar years immediately preceding the project start date

Exempts apprenticeship crafts dedicated exclusively to transportation of materials and equipment to and from the project from the graduation documentation requirement

Does not apply the new graduation evidence requirements to public works projects contracted by school districts or units of local government

Applies to contracts and grant agreements executed on or after the effective date of the Act for public works projects estimated to cost $500,000 or more

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
