Prohibits Illinois school districts from procuring disposable food service containers made wholly or partly from polystyrene foam after January 1, 2027, requiring the use of compostable or recyclable foodware instead

Bans contracted vendors from providing polystyrene foam food containers to schools after January 1, 2028 or upon contract renewal, whichever is later

Defines "compostable" items as those meeting ASTM D6400 standards and certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute

Exempts polystyrene foam coolers, egg cartons, seafood shipping ice chests, and packaging for raw/uncooked meat, poultry, fish, or seafood from the prohibition

Applies to both regular school districts and Chicago Public Schools (amending separate School Code sections for each)
