IL HB1153

Creates the Local Official Vacancy Posting Act requiring units of local government to post all elected official vacancies on their website if maintained by full-time staff

Requires local governments to also submit vacancy information to the county clerk, who must post it on the county website until the vacancy is filled

Imposes a mandatory 15-day waiting period before filling any vacancy, measured from when the posting appears on either the local government's website or the county website (for those without full-time staff-maintained websites)

Limits home rule powers by prohibiting local governments from regulating elected official vacancy postings in a manner inconsistent with the Act
