Expands mandatory reporting requirements for school officials to include not only observing someone with a firearm on school grounds, but also becoming aware of firearm possession or any threat of gun violence on school grounds

Requires principals to attempt to notify parents/guardians of students who make firearm violence threats, with the goal of ensuring the student does not have access to a firearm

Maintains existing requirement that principals immediately notify local law enforcement upon receiving reports of firearms or firearm threats on school grounds

Preserves civil and criminal immunity for school officials and principals who make good-faith reports under this section, with reporter identity protected from disclosure

Knowingly and willfully failing to comply remains a petty offense for first violation, escalating to a Class C misdemeanor for subsequent offenses
