IL HB1366

Requires schools to notify parents/guardians of their right to invite other individuals to special education meetings, including those with knowledge about the child or advocates for the parent/guardian or child

Parents/guardians must be asked to inform the school in advance if they plan to bring additional individuals so accommodations can be arranged

Directs the State Board of Education to prepare and distribute written informational materials to all school districts about the IEP (Individualized Education Program) facilitation process

IEP facilitation materials may be a one-page document describing the process and how to request facilitation, distributed to parents using the same methods as other IEP meeting documents

Amends the School Code by adding Section 14-19 regarding parental notice requirements for special education meetings
