Reduces the minimum acreage for land to qualify as "open land" or "open space" under the Township Code from 50 acres to 12 acres

Explicitly allows development of open space land for agricultural purposes and permits leasing of open space for agricultural properties

Limits new leases of township open space (after the Act's effective date) to 25 years maximum, down from 50 years, and restricts lessees to individuals, nonprofit organizations, or government entities

Requires township boards to obtain voter approval via referendum before selling, conveying, or disposing of open space, with the board first needing a two-thirds majority vote to place the question on the ballot

Creates an exception allowing townships to convey open space to the Department of Transportation for road purposes without referendum, provided public hearings are held and the board approves by two-thirds majority
