Doubles the income tax credit for volunteer emergency workers from $500 to $1,000 per eligible individual for taxable years beginning January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2028

Increases the annual aggregate cap on volunteer emergency worker tax credits from $5,000,000 to $6,000,000 starting in calendar year 2026

Eligible volunteers must serve at least 9 months during the taxable year and receive no more than $5,000 in compensation for their volunteer services

Applies to volunteer firefighters and members of county or municipal emergency services and disaster agencies (with disaster agency volunteers required to serve at least 100 hours)

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
