IL HB1440

Amends the Property Tax Code (35 ILCS 200/22-65) regarding the recording of tax deeds

Exempts tax deeds issued to a county as trustee (under Section 21-90) from municipal transfer stamp requirements

Removes the requirement for municipal real estate transfer taxes, certifications, or other municipal requirements prior to recording these county trustee tax deeds

Counties must record these tax deeds themselves when acting as trustee for properties acquired through tax sales where owners failed to pay property taxes
