Prohibits municipalities from banning the construction or use of accessory dwelling units (ADUs) within their jurisdictions

Defines ADUs as attached or detached residential units with complete independent living facilities (living, sleeping, eating, cooking, and sanitation) located on the same parcel as a primary single-family or multifamily dwelling

Includes efficiency units (minimum 150 square feet for up to 2 persons) and manufactured homes in the definition of ADUs

Allows municipalities to impose reasonable regulations on ADU size and location similar to other accessory structures, provided the regulations do not effectively prohibit ADUs

Limits home rule powers by requiring home rule municipalities to comply with these state standards for accessory dwelling units
