IL HB1825

Amends the Criminal Code of 2012 to expand when a person is legally accountable for another's conduct

Adds new provision holding an aggressor criminally accountable when their aggressive actions cause another person to use force in self-defense or defense of others

The aggressor becomes liable if that defensive use of force is the proximate cause of injury to a third party (bystander)

Creates legal accountability for those who initiate confrontations that result in harm to innocent third parties, even when the direct injury is caused by someone acting in lawful self-defense
