IL HB1875

Allows bicyclists approaching a stop sign to proceed through the intersection without fully stopping if they slow to a reasonable speed and yield the right-of-way

Requires cyclists to yield to pedestrians in the intersection or adjacent crosswalk, other traffic already in the intersection, and oncoming traffic that poses an immediate hazard

Defines "immediate hazard" as a vehicle approaching at a proximity and speed sufficient to indicate danger of collision to a reasonable person

Exempts intersections with active railroad grade crossings from this provision, where cyclists must still come to a complete stop

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code by adding Section 11-1511.5 (commonly known as an "Idaho Stop" law)
