Designates March of each year as Prescribed Fire Awareness Month in Illinois by amending the State Commemorative Dates Act

Recognizes prescribed fire as a traditional land management practice used to reduce hazardous fuels, lower wildfire risk, control invasive species, improve land access and appearance, and control harmful insects and forest diseases

Notes that only approximately 6% of conservation lands in Illinois are currently managed with prescribed fire, despite it being considered the most important practice for maintaining and restoring healthy landscapes

Aims to celebrate the ecological, economic, and cultural benefits of prescribed fire throughout the state
