IL HB2330

Amends the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act by adding a new Section 50-15

Creates an affirmative defense to criminal or civil charges under the Ethics Act for individuals who fully disclosed all relevant facts to their ethics officer

Requires the person to have relied in good faith on the ethics officer's advice to claim the defense

Protects state officials and employees from liability when they seek and follow guidance from designated ethics officers before taking action
