Municipalities and fire protection districts may charge assisted living facilities and nursing home facilities fees for lift-assist services after the 6th such service provided to that facility in a year

"Lift-assist service" is defined as a response by fire department, emergency response, or public safety personnel to lift a patient or individual from their current position to a desired position

Lift-assist services specifically exclude lifting patients during responses for transportation to hospitals or emergency rooms

Fees charged cannot exceed the actual personnel and equipment costs incurred by the municipality or fire protection district for providing the lift-assist services

Amends both the Illinois Municipal Code and the Fire Protection District Act to grant this fee collection authority
