Reduces the minimum land acreage requirement from 40 acres to 20 acres for free landowner deer hunting permits in counties where the Department of Natural Resources has positively identified chronic wasting disease (CWD) cases in the deer herd

Illinois resident landowners, resident tenants of commercial agricultural land, and bona fide equity shareholders/members/partners of corporations, LLCs, or partnerships owning at least 20 acres in CWD-affected counties qualify for free deer permits to hunt on their land only

Maintains the existing 40-acre minimum requirement for free deer, turkey, and combination hunting permits in counties not affected by chronic wasting disease

Caps the number of free permits issued to corporate shareholders or LLC members at 15 per county, and limits partnership permits to 3 per county (same limits as existing law)

Nonresidents owning at least 20 acres in CWD-affected counties who wish to hunt only on their land will be charged a fee set by administrative rule
