IL HB2399

Requires the State Board of Elections to implement an application programming interface (API) by December 31, 2025, enabling approved third-party organizations to submit complete voter registration applications in a standardized data format

Expands existing online voter registration provisions to allow voter registration submissions through electronic methods using the API, in addition to the State Board of Elections website

Third-party organizations must be approved by the State Board of Elections before they can use the API to submit voter registrations

Applications submitted through the API must meet the same requirements as those submitted through the existing online system, including verification against Secretary of State databases for driver's license and identification information

The bill takes effect immediately upon becoming law
