Expands the prohibition on compensated lobbying by state legislators and executive branch constitutional officers to cover all lobbying of municipal, county, or township governing bodies and officials

Removes the current limitation that only prohibited lobbying done on behalf of lobbyists or entities registered to lobby the General Assembly or state executive branch

Under current law, legislators can engage in paid local government lobbying if not working for state-registered lobbyists; this bill would ban all such compensated local lobbying regardless of who employs them

Violations of this prohibition constitute a Class A misdemeanor

Amends Section 2-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/2-101)
