Increases Medicaid reimbursement rates for air ambulance services (helicopter and airplane medical transport) to at least 75% of Medicare ambulance fee schedule rates, organized by designated Medicare locality

Requires federal approval before the Department of Healthcare and Family Services can implement the rate increase

Builds on existing law that set air ambulance reimbursement at 50% of Medicare rates effective January 1, 2024, raising the floor by 25 percentage points

Applies to both base charges and mileage charges for air ambulance medical transportation services provided to Medicaid recipients
