Municipalities operating automated speed enforcement systems must set aside 3% of net proceeds from each system generating more than $500,000 in revenue for the school or park located in that safety zone

The school or park receiving the set-aside funds may allocate them for any purpose they designate

Home rule units are prohibited from regulating speed enforcement camera revenue in a manner less restrictive than state regulations under this provision

The bill applies only to municipalities with populations of 1,000,000 or more (Chicago)

Existing law allows penalties up to $50 for speeding 6-10 mph over the limit and up to $100 for exceeding 10 mph over the limit in school and park safety zones
