Allows retired sheriff's law enforcement employees receiving annuities under IMRF to return to work as school security guards or school resource officers without losing their retirement annuity status

Retirees working in these school security positions must work more than 1,000 hours annually to be considered participating employees under the exception

The provision is temporary, expiring on January 1, 2030

Amends Section 7-144 of the Illinois Pension Code governing when retirement annuities are suspended during re-employment with a participating employer

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
