Veterans with 50% or greater service-connected disability from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs may receive military series registration plates without fee for one motor vehicle (first division or second division weighing up to 8,000 pounds)

Clarifies that any additional fees collected specifically for issuance and renewal of military series registration plates are not included in the fee waiver

Veterans must show proof of disability to the Secretary of State to qualify for the fee-free military registration plate

Amends Section 3-609.3 of the Illinois Vehicle Code regarding military series registration plates for veterans with disabilities
