IL HB2562

Expands the State Guardian's training program to have two separate components: one for guardians of the person and another for guardians of the estate

Extends the training completion requirement to all guardians, not just guardians of the person as previously required

Requires guardians to file a certificate of completion within one year from the date of issuance of letters of guardianship

Training for guardians of the person must include content on Alzheimer's disease and dementia, covering effective communication strategies, best practices for interaction, and strategies for supporting people with these conditions in exercising their rights

Exempts from training requirements: Office of State Guardian employees, public guardians, licensed attorneys, corporate fiduciaries, and persons certified by the Center for Guardianship Certification
