Amends the Downstate Teacher Article of the Illinois Pension Code to exclude certain salary increases from triggering additional employer contribution requirements when those increases exceed 6%

Effective July 1, 2025, school districts will not owe additional pension contributions for salary increases resulting from overload work, including summer school teaching

To qualify for the exclusion, the school district must certify that the overload work is solely for classroom instruction beyond the standard number of classes for full-time teachers during a school year

The salary increases must be equal to or less than the teacher's current rate of pay for classroom instruction based on their existing salary and work schedule

The Teachers' Retirement System must approve the district's certification before the exclusion applies
