IL HB2770

Amends the Election Code to allow election authorities to establish additional vote centers beyond the currently required minimum, following a tiered model based on county population and registered voter counts

Establishes minimum vote center requirements for counties with 250,000+ registered voters: 1 per 75,000 voters from days 15-5 before election, 1 per 20,000 voters from days 4-1 before election, and 1 per 12,500 voters on election day

Sets scaled requirements for smaller counties: counties with 37,500-250,000 voters follow similar ratios; counties with 12,500-37,500 voters must have at least 1 vote center before election day and 3 on election day; counties under 12,500 voters need at least 1 vote center

Removes the July 1, 2029 repeal date for the existing vote center provisions, making them permanent

Requires election authorities to consider multiple factors when selecting vote center locations, including proximity to public transportation, disability access, geographic distribution, historically under-represented communities, and areas with lower voter turnout in previous elections
