Expands activities that count toward daily school attendance clock hours to include participation in local, state, and national youth organizations, career and technical education student organizations, FFA associations, and 4-H programs for competitions, exhibitions, or conferences

Adds new category allowing work-based learning experiences, including supervised agricultural experiences, to count toward attendance when approved by an educator with a career and technical educator endorsement and work-based learning designation

Changes language from requiring student participation to be "directed" by a licensed educator to being "approved" by a licensed educator for Supervised Career Development Experiences and youth apprenticeships

Requires school districts to update attendance policies and student handbooks by the 2026-2027 school year to reflect these allowable activities, including an approval process and provisions for making up missed coursework without penalizing students

Places responsibility on students and parents/guardians to obtain missed coursework from teachers while participating in any of these qualifying activities
