IL HB2826

Increases the population threshold for townships required to use multi-township assessors from 1,000 inhabitants to 3,000 inhabitants, effective upon publication of 2030 federal decennial census data

Townships with populations below the threshold ("qualified townships") must share an assessor with contiguous qualifying townships rather than electing their own township assessor

Townships that become subject to multi-township assessor requirements due to 2030 census population data must comply beginning with the first general election after census publication

Multi-township assessment districts must contain at least 2 qualified townships, be contiguous, and be located within a single county

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
