IL HB2854

Expands the Chicago Police Pension Fund board of trustees from 8 members to 9 members

Increases elected police officer seats from 3 to 4, with the new composition requiring at least one lieutenant, one sergeant, and two members at the rank of investigator or below (previously only one at investigator rank or below)

Removes eligibility for ranks superior to lieutenant to serve in the lieutenant seat on the board

Newly created elected board positions will be filled using the same vacancy procedures outlined in Section 5-180 of the Pension Code

Maintains the existing 4 mayoral appointees and one annuitant member on the board
