Public bodies must still provide requesters with an accounting of fees and costs for voluminous requests, but no longer need to itemize staff time spent on the request

The change applies specifically to Section 6 regarding the authority to charge fees, affecting the fee structure for electronic records requests based on data size (ranging from $20 for smaller files up to $100 for larger files)

Commercial requests remain subject to different rules, still requiring full accounting of fees, costs, and personnel hours when fees are imposed
