IL HB3001

Expands the definition of "at risk for ovarian cancer" under the Illinois Insurance Code to include individuals with high CA-125 levels as indicated by blood test screening

Broadens covered "surveillance tests for ovarian cancer" to include all medically viable detection methods such as ultrasounds, MRIs, x-rays, CT scans, and CA-125 blood tests

Replaces the previous limited definition that only covered annual screening using CA-125 serum tumor marker testing, transvaginal ultrasound, and pelvic examination

Requires group health insurance policies to cover these expanded ovarian cancer surveillance tests without deductibles, copayments, or other cost-sharing for at-risk individuals

Effective January 1, 2027
