Expands options for 7th and 8th grade students to earn high school course credit by adding a new pathway: students can take courses at their own school if they pass both the course and the end-of-course examination given at the high school, demonstrating proficiency at the high school level

Maintains existing pathways allowing middle school students to earn high school credit by taking courses at the high school location (provided their enrollment doesn't prevent high school students from enrolling) or by taking courses taught by appropriately licensed teachers

Requires school boards that adopt such policies to grant academic credit counting toward graduation requirements for elementary students who successfully complete high school courses

Mandates school boards to accept transfer credits for courses completed under these provisions, unless evidence shows the course did not meet Illinois Learning Standards at the appropriate high school level

Requires grades from courses completed under this section to be included in the student's high school grade point average
