Counties and municipalities may issue licenses for cannabis hospitality venues (restaurants, bars, or other businesses) and temporary event permits allowing on-site consumption of cannabis, cannabis-infused products, and sale of cannabis paraphernalia

Cannabis consumption venues and temporary events must be located at least 500 feet from primary or secondary schools and must implement plans to prevent entry by individuals under 21 years of age

Licensed venues must have ventilation systems for indoor smoking areas and sight-obscuring barriers for outdoor consumption spaces; employees must have access to designated smoke-free areas

Applicants qualifying for Social Equity Applicant status under the Cannabis Tax and Regulation Act are entitled to refunds of their licensing costs

Home rule units are prohibited from regulating temporary events or cannabis hospitality venues in a manner inconsistent with this Act; municipalities may optionally prohibit cannabis hospitality venues from serving alcoholic beverages
