Required high school civics classes must guide students through the voter registration process as part of the curriculum

Students who are of eligible age under Illinois law must be given the opportunity to preregister to vote during their civics class

Students or their parents/legal guardians may opt the student out of the voter preregistration process

Amends Section 27-22 of the School Code, which governs required high school courses including the mandatory one-semester civics requirement
