IL HB3272

Amends the Swimming Facility Act to require employers operating outdoor aquatic centers (pools, beaches, water parks, splash pads) to provide shade structures such as umbrellas, awnings, or canopies for employees

Requires employers to make reasonable efforts to avoid exposing employees to excessive sun during peak ultraviolet hours and permit employees to regularly apply sunscreen

Prohibits employers from restricting employees from wearing sun-protective clothing (hats, sunglasses, rash guards, long-sleeve shirts, shorts, pants) but also prohibits compelling employees to wear such clothing

Allows employers to set guidelines for appropriate work attire if employees choose to wear sun-protective clothing, and requires employers to inform employees of their sun protection rights

Directs the Department to provide educational documents to employers about cancer risks from ultraviolet radiation and the importance of sun protection and skin monitoring
