Student members serving on the Illinois Board of Higher Education would receive a $500 scholarship award for each semester they are enrolled and serving on the board

Student members serving on the Illinois Community College Board would receive a $500 scholarship award for each semester they are enrolled at a community college and serving on the board

Scholarship funds would be paid directly to the institution where the student member is enrolled

Scholarship funds may be used for tuition and fees, books, and supplies

All other board members (non-student) would continue to serve without compensation, receiving only reimbursement for actual and necessary travel expenses
