IL HB3441

Requires the Department of Corrections to provide released persons (on parole, mandatory supervised release, final discharge, or pardon) with resources to help them adjust to life outside prison, including access to social workers, clinical psychologists, and other counselors

Mandates that counselors assist released individuals in obtaining housing, employment, education, health care, State identification, and other necessary resources to prevent recidivism

Requires the Department of Human Services to provide assistance to released persons in achieving these reentry goals without interference from the person's assigned parole officer

Amends Section 3-14-1 of the Unified Code of Corrections to add these new reentry support provisions to existing release procedures
