Requires all students in grades 9-12 to pass an annual medical evaluation and receive an electrocardiogram (EKG) before participating in interscholastic athletic activities, effective January 1, 2026

Allows parents or guardians to waive the EKG requirement based on religious objections or by submitting a written request

Mandates that students in any grade must pass a medical evaluation before participating in any practice, tryout, workout, conditioning, or physical activity associated with interscholastic athletics, including activities outside the school year

Medical evaluations may only be administered by licensed health care professionals (nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, physician assistants, athletic trainers) or physicians

Preparticipation physical evaluation forms must incorporate American Heart Association cardiovascular screening recommendations and include sections for practitioner attestation, referrals, and cardiovascular assessment information
