State Board of Education must create a system for automatic suspension of educator licenses when the license holder is convicted of a sex offense under Article 11 of the Criminal Code of 2012

Automatic suspension also applies to convictions for crimes requiring registration under the Sex Offender Registration Act

Amends Section 21B-80 of the School Code, which already allows suspension or revocation of educator licenses for various criminal convictions including drug offenses, sex offenses, and first degree murder

Current law requires the State Superintendent to manually suspend licenses upon conviction; the new provision establishes an automated system specifically for sex-related convictions
