Amends the Education for Homeless Children Act to add "extended motel stay" as a form of housing assistance that school districts may provide to children who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless

School districts currently authorized to provide rental or mortgage assistance; this bill expands options to include paying for motel accommodations

Districts must first attempt to provide assistance through a homeless assistance agency that is part of the Federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act's continuum of care before using their own funds

A housing plan must be approved in writing by both the school district and the parent, guardian, or person who enrolled the child before assistance can be provided

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
