Extends the maximum repayment period for outstanding hospital provider assessments from 36 months to 72 months for hospitals under a repayment plan or following the end of a tax deferral plan

Amends the Hospital Provider Funding Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code (305 ILCS 5/5A-7)

Tax deferral plans remain capped at 6 months, but the subsequent repayment period after deferral expiration increases from 36 to 72 months

Provides hospitals with greater flexibility to pay off delinquent assessments owed to the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services
