IL HB4216

Amends the School Code (105 ILCS 5/23-7) to allow school board associations to offer scholarships or reimbursements to school board members for reasonable travel and lodging expenses

Permits school board members to accept these scholarships or reimbursements to attend association-hosted meetings and events related to their official duties and professional development

Maintains existing law prohibiting school board members from receiving compensation for service to associations, while clarifying that expense reimbursements are permitted

Requires consistency with Section 10-15 of the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act regarding gifts and reimbursements

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
