Increases sentence credit for certain drug-related offenses from a maximum of 7.5 days per month to one day of credit for each day of imprisonment, effectively allowing day-for-day credit

Applies to offenses including gunrunning, narcotics racketeering, controlled substance trafficking, methamphetamine trafficking, drug-induced homicide, and Class X felony drug delivery/possession with intent when the substance is 100 grams or more

Requires the Department of Corrections and Department of Juvenile Justice to recalculate release dates for prisoners serving sentences under the affected provisions within 6 months after the law takes effect

Each day of sentence credit earned reduces the prisoner's imprisonment or recommitment period by one day

Amends Section 3-6-3 of the Unified Code of Corrections governing rules and regulations for sentence credit
