Amends the Illinois Unemployment Insurance Act to allow unemployment benefits for non-instructional educational workers during periods between academic terms, effective June 1, 2026.

Non-instructional, non-research, and non-administrative staff at educational institutions and educational service agencies would become eligible for benefits during summer breaks and between semesters.

Current law denies unemployment benefits to most educational workers during periods between academic years or terms if they have reasonable assurance of returning to work.

Instructional, research, and principal administrative personnel would remain ineligible for benefits during inter-term periods under existing restrictions.

The bill takes effect immediately upon becoming law, with the benefit eligibility change applying to weeks of unemployment beginning on or after June 1, 2026.
