Acceptable verification methods include reviewing government-issued identification, comparing with bank account records, or obtaining confirmation through a clearing or issuing bank.

Checks processed solely through automated clearing processes without manual review and authorized by federal law are exempt from the verification requirements.

Licensed public adjusters must provide proof of Illinois licensure to insurance carriers before substantive claim negotiations begin; carriers must notify the insured and the Department if proof is not provided.

All contracts entered into in violation of public adjuster licensing requirements are void and invalid.
