State Superintendent of Education may issue short-term approval for paraprofessional educators who do not meet requirements for an Educator License with Stipulations with paraprofessional endorsement.

Short-term approval authorizes individuals to serve as paraprofessional educators in school districts, charter schools, or State-operated programs.

Approval expires on June 30 following the third full fiscal year after issuance, with no renewal option.

Upon expiration, the State Superintendent shall issue an Educator License with Stipulations with paraprofessional endorsement if the individual meets specified requirements.

Amends Section 21B-20 of the School Code's Educator Licensure Article (105 ILCS 5/21B-20).
