Appropriates $20,000,000 from the Capital Projects Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for restoration of the former Joliet Correctional Center property

Eligible expenses include site preparation, environmental assessments, demolition of existing structures, environmental remediation, and site stabilization activities

Funds may also cover site restoration activities and other work directly related to the demolition process to support infrastructure renewal and development

Appropriation includes coverage for prior year costs associated with the project

Effective date: July 1, 2026
