Municipalities authorized to levy taxes for maintaining, constructing, or replacing sanitary sewers may collect those taxes as part of property tax bills.

Sanitary sewer taxes collected through property tax bills would be excluded from the aggregate extension calculation under the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law (PTELL).

The exclusion from PTELL caps means these sewer taxes would not count toward the annual property tax growth limit (lesser of 5% or CPI increase).

Amends the Property Tax Code by adding Sections 18-185 and 20-17.

Effective immediately upon becoming law.
