IL HB4708

Establishes a pilot program starting January 1, 2027 to provide long-acting injectable medications for opioid use disorders to incarcerated individuals in Illinois Department of Corrections custody.

Requires the pilot program to operate in at least one correctional facility, with a minimum of 4,000 medication administrations, and allows the Director to expand to additional facilities.

Mandates the Department develop a plan to ensure continued community treatment access for participants upon release, including referrals to harm reduction providers.

Requires the Department to report to the General Assembly on program effectiveness by January 1, 2028.
